We are looking for a corporate and commercial lawyer to join the In-House Legal department in APAC and become part of a young, dynamic, and international corporate environment.
Job DESCRIPTION
As part of the In-House Legal department you will provide legal advice for all aspects of Alter Domus’ work, support its business and internal functions on commercial, regulatory and transactional matters, whilst working in a team of experienced and versatile in-house lawyers across EMEA, APAC and North America.
The successful candidate will be reporting to the Head of Legal EMEA and APAC.
your responsibilities include
- Operate as primary point of contact for the business to assist and advise on matters concerning regulatory matters, corporate/commercial and contract law.
- Support to EMEA/APAC In-House Legal:
- drafting and updating legal documentation, including standard services agreements, intra-group agreements, and outsourcing agreements and other types of commercial contracts;
- management of legal risk and monitoring or advising on legislative and regulatory changes affecting the business’ service offering;
- ensuring compliance with internal policies, procedures and standards as well as Alter Domus’ standard contracting process;
- contribute to knowledge management, training and legal updates.
- Assisting with negotiation of a broad range of specialised services agreements and commercial contracts with suppliers and vendors, including SaaS and technology contracts.
- Advising on legal aspects of client transactions and assist with understanding legal risk and corporate governance.
- Conducting legal research and analysis on a wide range of issues to inform decision making and integrate into actionable recommendations for senior management and teams.
- Providing business support:
- contribute to formal responses to client queries in support of operational teams;
- advise operational teams on the legal consequences of corporate and commercial documents; and
- acting as trusted advisor to the Alter Domus’ senior management and internal support functions.
Your PROFILE
- Qualified solicitor in Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia or England & Wales.
- 3 to 5 years relevant post-qualification experience, preferably in-house in an international environment.
- Strong background in commercial law and demonstrable experience in the Financial Services industry and its regulatory environment.
- Experience in using legal technology platforms would be a distinct advantage.
- Excellent command of English and ability to present views clearly, concisely, and accurately to a wide array of audiences.
- Legal risk awareness and ability to work collaboratively with the business to deliver pragmatic outcome-focussed solutions to legal issues, without compromising on Alter Domus’ policies, protection and values.
- High ethical standards and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
- Willingness to progress and ability to develop expertise in new technical areas to consistently high standards.
- Fluency in Mandarin would be an asset.
