JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a highly strategic and commercially astute Events and Marketing Senior Manager to elevate our third-party conference participation and spearhead the development and execution of our proprietary client events. As a key leader within the global marketing team, this role demands a collaborative strategic thinker with a deep understanding of the private markets conference landscape, stakeholder engagement, and high-caliber event delivery across major North American markets. Based in New York, this position will require occasional domestic and international travel to support our sales teams at conferences and oversee the successful execution of our own events. You will partner closely with our commercial leadership to define, implement, and measure the success of our comprehensive conference and events strategy, ensuring alignment with our commercial objectives and tracking return on investment.

Your Role:

  • Strategic Development: Formulate and execute a pan-sectoral private markets-focused conference strategy and implementation plan, encompassing budget management, stakeholder engagement, and comprehensive tracking of activities via Salesforce.
  • Event Design and Delivery: Architect and deliver a portfolio of high-impact UK and European events that align with our commercial goals and meet the elevated standards expected by Alter Domus stakeholders, clients, prospects, and business influencers.
  • Performance Optimization: Enhance the tracking and reporting of conference activities through Salesforce, focusing on the generation of commercial opportunities, lead creation, and the effective navigation of prospects through the sales funnel.
  • Content Collaboration: Collaborate with the broader marketing team to develop compelling content, particularly for social media, that amplifies our conference participation, reinforces our position as an industry thought leader, and highlights our subject-matter experts.
  • Budget Management: Oversee conference and events budgets with a strategic lens, ensuring compliance, maximizing value, and maintaining the highest quality standards.
  • Complex Project Management: Demonstrate expertise in managing a diverse portfolio of conferences and events concurrently, adeptly navigating the complexities of event logistics, executive event creation, and meticulous budget and Salesforce tracking to ensure accurate return on investment assessments.
  • Onsite Leadership: Serve as the primary point of contact and “front of house” representative, welcoming guests and providing strategic support to our sales teams during events and conferences.

Your Profile:

  • Extensive Experience: You will bring 8-10 years of strategic event planning experience within the B2B sector, with a strong preference for expertise in private markets, demonstrating a deep understanding of sectoral dynamics and client needs.
  • Advanced Project Management Expertise: You will possess exceptional project management capabilities, adept at seamlessly transitioning between short-term tactical execution and long-term strategic planning, ensuring alignment with overarching business objectives.
  • Leadership in Direction Setting: You will have a proven ability to establish clear strategic directions and expectations for Alter Domus delegates, as well as for freelancers, venues, and vendors, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
  • Meticulous Attention to Detail: You will exhibit a keen attention to detail, coupled with a proactive approach to troubleshooting and the ability to think critically and adaptively in high-pressure situations.
  • Exceptional Communication Skills: You will demonstrate superior writing and communication skills, effectively articulating complex ideas and strategies to diverse audiences, including senior leadership and external stakeholders.
  • High Degree of Autonomy: You will operate with a significant level of personal autonomy, taking initiative and ownership of projects while driving results that align with the strategic vision of the organization.
  • Strategic Stakeholder Management: You will possess advanced stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage and influence cross-functional teams, including senior leadership, to achieve collaborative outcomes.
  • Collaborative Leadership Mindset: You will embody a collaborative mindset, positive attitude, and a proactive approach to delivery, inspiring and motivating team members and stakeholders alike.
  • Team Leadership Experience: You will have a track record of successfully leading and developing a small team, fostering a high-performance culture that encourages professional growth and innovation
