Your role

We are seeking a Sr. FP&A Analyst to join our Finance team in Madrid. This role is designed for someone with a strong analytical foundation and deep technical expertise in financial modeling and data analysis. You will be responsible for building and maintaining sophisticated financial models, informing complex data infrastructure, and delivering insights that drive strategic decision-making across the organization.

The focus of this position is on analytical rigor, data quality, and technical excellence. While business partnering is an important aspect of the role, your primary strength should be in translating raw data into robust financial models and actionable intelligence. You will work closely with the wider FP&A team, but much of your time will be spent on deep analytical work building models, optimizing data processes, and ensuring data integrity across our reporting infrastructure.

 

Your responsibilities

 

Data & Financial Modeling

  • Design, build, and maintain complex financial models (budgets, forecasts, variance analyses, scenario modeling, DCF analyses)
  • Develop and optimize automated reporting solutions to reduce manual work and improve accuracy
  • Create and manage dashboards and analytical frameworks that support decision-making across the business
  • Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and improve data pipeline efficiency

Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare and deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packs with speed and precision
  • Conduct in-depth analysis to support business questions and strategic initiatives
  • Identify trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement through critical data analysis

Collaboration & Development

  • Collaborate with Finance and business partners to understand analytical requirements and deliver solutions
  • Support special projects, process improvements, and cross-functional initiatives
  • Mentor junior analysts on best practices in modeling, and data analysis

 

Your profile

 

Essential Skills & Experience

  • 5-8 years of professional experience in financial analysis, FP&A, corporate finance, or related analytical finance role
  • Advanced Excel expertise: building and maintaining large, complex models; VBA or Excel macros is a plus
  • Strong foundation in financial analysis and modeling (sensitivity analysis, scenario modeling, forecasting)
  • Hands-on experience with databases, SQL, and data extraction/manipulation
  • High comfort with data analysis, large datasets, and problem-solving using analytical tools
  • University degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Engineering, or related discipline
  • Fluent in English; ability to communicate complex analytical findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences

  • Comfortable with ambiguity; able to break down complex problems
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple workstreams under tight deadlines
  • A passion for data integrity and a commitment to building robust, scalable solutions
  • Collaborative approach, but equally comfortable working independently on technical deep-dives

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Python, R, or other programming languages for data analysis
  • Familiarity with SAP S/4 HANA, SAP Analytics Cloud, Tableau, or Power BI
  • Experience in alternative investment management or asset management
  • Knowledge of AI, ETL tools or data warehouse concepts
