JOB DESCRIPTION:
Alter Domus are looking for an experienced Network Engineer with strong expertise in, Data center networking and Network security operations. The candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, troubleshooting, and managing enterprise network infrastructure across on-premises and hybrid cloud environments. The role involves working closely with infrastructure, security, and cloud teams to ensure high availability, performance, and security of the network environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage and support enterprise data center network infrastructure.
- Design, implement, and maintain VMware NSX environments including micro-segmentation and distributed firewall policies.
- Configure and troubleshoot routing and switching technologies.
- Manage firewall policies, VPNs, NAT, and security controls.
- Support data center operations including LAN, WAN,
- Knowledge in Hub-Spoke and spine-leaf architecture
- Monitor network performance, availability, and security incidents.
- Perform root cause analysis for network outages and service degradation.
- Implement high availability solutions such as HSRP, VRRP, dynamic routing, and redundancy mechanisms.
- Work on BGP, OSPF, VLANs, STP, LACP, and MPLS technologies.
- Coordinate with server, virtualization, cloud, and security teams for infrastructure changes.
- Manage load balancers, DNS, DHCP, and IPAM solutions.
- Handle change management, patching, upgrades, and documentation activities.
- Ensure compliance with security standards and operational best practices.
- Support disaster recovery and business continuity initiatives.
- Participate in 24x7 support or on-call rotation when required.
Your Profile:
- Bachelor’s degree or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in network engineering and data center operations.
- Good to have VMware NSX certification.
- Cisco CCNP/CCIE or equivalent certification preferred.
- Experience in large enterprise or multi-data-center environments.
- Exposure to hybrid cloud networking and SDN technologies.
- Knowledge in incident management and change management processes.
- Knowledge of network security best practices and compliance frameworks.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Good communication and stakeholder management.
- Ability to work in fast-paced production environments.
- Strong documentation and reporting skills.
- Team collaboration and leadership capabilities.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of VMware NSX-T / NSX-V.
- Experience in data center operations and enterprise networking.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco, Checkpoint, Palo Alto, ISE and WLC devices.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing, and switching concepts.
- Experience with BGP, OSPF, VLANs, VXLAN, EVPN, STP/RSTP/MSTP, LACP/Port Channel
- Experience with VPN technologies including IPsec and SSL VPN.
- Familiarity with monitoring and SIEM tools.
- Understanding of zero trust and network segmentation concepts.
