IT Network Projects Engineer

We are looking for a Network projects engineer to join the IT Business Infrastructure team. The scope of his/her work will be to participate in all security related projects, in an execution and coordination role with external parties.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

 

  • Help deliver projects with the right balance of cost, time, scope, and quality;
  • Provide hands-on expertise on network related projects and collaborate with the internal IT production Team;
  • Deploy and troubleshoot various types of network elements, infrastructure services and platforms;
  • Help implement new processes that achieve greater operational effectiveness and organizational synergies;
  • Manage clear communication of progress/status with project stakeholders;
  • Adapt to changing conditions and modify project execution plan as appropriate while managing multiple projects concurrently;
  • Identify blockers and facilitate the removal of those blockers;
  • Anticipate and evaluate risks;
  • Comprehend complex technical details and relay information to both technical and business stakeholders;
  • Creation of requirement documents upon completion of each project;
  • Manage effective alignment with internal cross-functional tasks for installation, configuration, network connectivity and other hardware deployment;
  • Drive urgency towards customer lab/field issues with the support organization and internal development teams;
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations;
  • Reporting and resolution of issues, risks and dependencies, proactively identifying potential planning gaps, suggesting mitigations to risks, actions to close issues or complete open items

 

 

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:

 

  • Strong hands-on/technical knowledge of network core and perimeter technologies;
  • Strong understanding of network infrastructure and troubleshooting;
  • Strong technical knowledge on Cisco switches, routers, WLC, ISE servers;
  • Strong technical knowledge of WAN technologies, MPLS, BGP and experience in SD-WAN technologies;
  • Proven experience in implementing or managing various security components (Firewalls, proxy, load balancers, reverse proxy);
  • Understanding of monitoring and reporting platforms, and associated tasks or operations;
  • Being familiar with ITIL framework, tickets management and associated workflows;
  • Managed Services and Cloud experience
     

 

YOUR PROFILE:

 

  • At least 5 years of technical background in networks, being a former network/security admin is an asset;
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills;
  • Willingness to work with teams in multiple time zones;
  • Able to interact with all levels of management;
  • Experienced in manage challenging situations with clients requirements and third party constrains, and being an expert in building consensus in such situations;
  • Proficient in office move or relocation, especially “bare boned move”;
  • Being able to work under pressure and time constraints, still maintaining strict attention to detail in high-pressure situations;
  • Able to coordinate multiple 3rd party providers;
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken), French being an asset;
  • Willing to travel when needed;
  • Being hands-on and be open to changes around existing definitions
