Alter Domus’s UK Compliance team is responsible for the compliance oversight of eight companies that provide services to clients, three of which are regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority and two are supervised by HMRC for compliance with money laundering repgulations. Alter Domus UK is looking for an experienced Compliance Manager to join our UK Compliance team.  The role holder will report to the UK Head of Compliance (SMF 16 & 17) supporting and advising on UK compliance matters to business teams in the UK and internationally. 
As a skilled and collaborative Compliance Manager in the UK Compliance team you will play a key role in supporting the growth of the UK’s business while ensuring Alter Domus maintains and develops policies and procedures in compliance with the relevant UK regulations, legislation and the Group policies. You will work closely with all business units, as well as external parties from time to time.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES  

• Support the UK Head of Compliance to ensure all activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, policies and industry standards.
• Supervision of other UK Compliance team members, as required.
• Advise the business on day to day compliance queries including but not limited to those relating to AML and other financial crime procedures and processes.
• Conduct horizon scanning to ensure that Alter Domus’s UK policies and procedures reflect changes in regulations, developing new policies as required and working with business teams to implement changes.
• Maintainenance of the UK Compliance manual and local AML policies and procedures.  
• Support the Head of Compliance UK in relationship management of regulators and supervisory authorities (e.g. FCA & HMRC).
• Manage processes and procedures in support of the UK Senior Managers & Certification Regime (SMCR).
• To support as necessary the preparation and submission of FCA returns and other notifications and information requests.
• Maintenance and oversight of breaches and controls register ensuring issues are rectified in a timely manner.
• Support the Head of Compliance with internal and external audits, collating data and sharing information as required and also following up on audit recommendations.
• Provide support to other members of the UK Compliance team in completing and maintaining the compliance monitoring program and other 2LOD Compliance and AML/KYC reviews and client approvals, as applicable.

    
PROFILE 

• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a UK Compliance role for a FCA regulated financial services firm (ideally asset management, debt capital markets and/or payment services firms), with some experience working at a manager level.
• You have detailed technical and practical knowledge of the UK Regulatory requirements as set by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).
• You have detailed knowledge of the UKs Payment Services Regulations.
• You have a good knowledge of UK KYC/AML, sanctions and other financial crime regulations and legislation.
• You have experience in managing compliance monitoring frameworks and performing compliance monitoring reviews and oversight of outsourced activities.
• You are an effective communicator and have collaborative approach to working with the Business and Compliance teams
• You must be organised and capable of working effectively within a fast-growth environment and enhance the reputation of the UK Compliance team across the business.
• You will have strong judgement and analytical thinking.
• Regulatory Compliance or Financial Crime related qualifications are advantageous but not essential.
