You will analyze and maintain critical data assets, gather and interpret database information, and track client requests and deliverables for the Product organization. This role requires hands-on technical expertise: staging SQL queries, applying database changes, and validating data and configuration updates across QA, UAT, and Production environments.
Your responsibilities include performing functional, report, and regression testing to ensure application quality, while serving as a key resource for business users requiring complex data analyses and unique dataset extractions. You'll apply these same capabilities to new client onboarding and ongoing configuration maintenance.
What We're Looking For:
The ideal candidate demonstrates strong RDBMS knowledge, advanced SQL proficiency, and analytical thinking with the ability to confidently navigate complex data. You should be detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills, well-organized, and comfortable managing shifting priorities and tight deadlines.
Experience with the full Software Development Lifecycle and enterprise-class system testing is highly valued. Through this role, you'll develop deep expertise in complex private equity fund waterfalls and carried interest plans.
What You'll Do:
As a Technical Business Analyst, you will bridge the gap between our Product organization, Client Services, and Development teams. Your primary responsibilities include:
Data Analysis & Management
- Perform comprehensive analysis of complex financial data from private equity clients across multiple sources (General Ledger systems, Excel, proprietary/legacy platforms)
- Map and transform client data to CapAssure data formats and database structures
- Execute advanced data analysis using SQL, Excel, and Python to support business requirements and ad-hoc requests
- Extract, validate, and present actionable insights to Product and Client Service teams
System Configuration & Database Management
- Develop and maintain SQL scripts for system configuration updates based on client requirements
- Stage and validate database changes that drive system behavior, calculations, and workflows
- Manage configuration changes through development, QA, UAT, and Production environments
- Ensure data integrity and quality through rigorous validation techniques
- Work with modern data platforms including SQL Server and Databricks
Quality Assurance & Testing
- Design comprehensive test scenarios and plans for new features, functionality changes, and reporting enhancements
- Execute functional, regression, and end-to-end acceptance testing
- Create test data and develop test cases for accounting and financial workflows
- Document test results in JIRA and Azure DevOps, compare against expected outcomes, and track defects through resolution
- Validate that configuration changes produce intended impacts on data processing and system behavior
Client Support & Onboarding
- Support new client onboarding and ongoing configuration maintenance
- Investigate and document client-reported issues and system defects
- Provide end-user support for data analysis, reporting, and system change requests
- Collaborate with development teams on client-driven enhancements
SDLC & Project Management
- Contribute throughout the full Software Development Lifecycle from requirements analysis to production deployment
- Track and manage client requests and deliverables through the Product pipeline using JIRA and Azure DevOps
- Maintain documentation for system configurations, processes, and testing procedures
- Work with shifting priorities and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Required Qualifications:
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent additional experience)
- 5-7 years of progressive experience in a business/systems analyst, data analyst, or related technical role
