About Role
The Network and Security Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of network infrastructure and security operations, including strategic planning, implementation, and maintenance. This role requires strong leadership skills to manage and develop a team of network and security engineers while ensuring best practices in network architecture, cybersecurity, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Management
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of network and security engineers
- Conduct performance evaluations, provide coaching, and support professional development
- Recruit, onboard, and train new team members
- Establish team goals, priorities, and work assignments
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation
Network Management
- Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise network infrastructure
- Manage LAN, WAN, VPN, wireless networks, and cloud connectivity
- Ensure network performance, reliability, and scalability
- Lead network capacity planning and optimization initiatives
- Manage relationships with network service providers and vendors
Security Operations
- Develop and implement comprehensive cybersecurity strategies and policies
- Oversee security infrastructure including firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, and endpoint protection
- Ensure compliance with security frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, SOC 2, etc.)
Compliance & Governance
- Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and documentation
- Conduct security awareness training programs
- Manage security audits and assessments
Required Qualifications
Experience
- 10+ years of progressive experience in network and security management
- Minimum 5 years in a leadership/management role supervising technical teams
- Proven track record of managing complex network and security projects
- Experience with enterprise-level network and security architecture
Technical Skills
Firewall & Network Security (Required)
- Hands-on experience managing and implementing CheckPoint and/or Palo Alto Networks firewalls
- Expertise in firewall policy management, rule optimization, and security best practices
- Experience with next-generation firewall features (App-ID, User-ID, threat prevention, SSL inspection)
- Proficiency in VPN configurations (site-to-site, remote access, SSL VPN)
- Experience with high availability, clustering, and disaster recovery configurations
Zero Trust Architecture (Preferred)
- Good understanding of Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) principles and implementation
- Familiarity with software-defined perimeter (SDP) concepts
Core Network & Security
- Expert knowledge of network protocols, routing, and switching (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS)
- Strong expertise in network security technologies (IDS/IPS, NAC, DLP)
- Strong experience with Cisco ISE and Cisco WLC
- Proficiency with security tools (SIEM, vulnerability scanners, penetration testing tools)
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid infrastructure
- Experience with secure access service edge (SASE) and cloud security architecture
- Understanding of scripting and automation (Python, PowerShell, Ansible)
Additional Security Technologies
- Experience with endpoint protection platforms (EDR/XDR)
- Knowledge of web application firewalls (WAF) and API security
- Familiarity with security orchestration and automation (SOAR)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in [specific industry: healthcare, finance, retail, etc.]
- Experience with SD-WAN and network virtualization
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification
- Experience with disaster recovery and business continuity planning
- Experience with Cisco ISE and WLC
- Experience with Zscaler ZIA (Zero Trust Internet Access) and cloud security posture management
- Hands-on experience with CheckPoint Security Management Server and SmartConsole
- Experience with Palo Alto Panorama for centralized management
- Knowledge of threat intelligence platforms and integration
Certifications (Required or Preferred)
Required:
- CISSP, CISM, or equivalent security certification
Highly Preferred:
- CheckPoint CCSA/CCSE or Palo Alto Networks PCNSE certification
- Zscaler certifications (ZIA/ZPA Administrator or Professional)
Preferred:
- CCNP/CCIE Security, CompTIA Security+, CEH, GIAC certifications
- Cloud certifications (AWS Certified Security, Azure Security Engineer)
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field
- Master's degree preferred
