Senior QA Automation Engineer

Alter Domus is currently seeking a Quality Assurance Lead to join our Data and Analytics team at our London, NYC or remote office

This key role is part of the newly formed Alter Domus Data & Analytics team. This is a newly formed team that will build data-driven applications and products with a vision to be the market leader in providing insights to investors in the alternative investments arena, including private equity, private debt and commercial real estate. The team has deep expertise in building billion dollars plus businesses and is poised for exponential growth. You will work with a proven team with a diverse background from tech, consulting, data science, and financial services who have a deep understanding of what it takes to build scalable software and successful products and businesses.

Technology is part and parcel of the products we are building and is involved in a leading role in the early stage of the product development life cycle. We are not tied to a specific technology stack or framework. Our team has sufficient autonomy to create our own path, either building directly, working with partners or 3rd party tools.  We want to use the right tool for the right job. There has been significant investment in building a team that can handle large, disparate datasets with a focus on automation using AI/ML. We want to build the right thing and build it well.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

· Developing the testing framework and test strategy to support our integrated SaaS enterprise product landscape

· Manage and report ongoing quality assurance metrics and process for data and analytics products, owning the end to end test process

· Execute and contribute significantly to the overall technology strategy by ensuring quality assurance is considered in the designs

· Establish and maintain effective communication and relationships across teams, departments, divisions, and vendors

· Recommend improvements to strategy, processes, plans and future opportunities with a mindset of continuous improvement

· Participate in new product and feature technical design discussions

· Work with the product owners and development teams during story estimation and roadmap development

· Build test cases and test suites in line with the business needs

· Ensure testing suite aligns to continuous deployment and delivery practices and enables the highest quality standards, including smoke, functional, non-functional and regression tests

· Hands-on role including active testing, communicating defects, test design and measuring coverage with clear KPIs

YOUR PROFILE:

· Engineering background

· Experience on agile development teams as a Senior Quality Assurance engineer or QA lead

· Experience with automated testing frameworks such as Playwright Selenium or Cypress.

· Experience with CI/CD and integration tests.

· Experience with testing frameworks such as Jest or Mocha

· Experience with load testing tools such as JMeter and K6 or other load testing tools.

· Experience with API testing tools such as Postman.

· Experience with project management tools such (we use Jira).

· Experience testing cloud-based software, complex systems, and APIs

· Collaborative and team-oriented leader capable of translating complex technical concepts into clear messages

· Previous experience in enterprise-level software testing and delivery

· Capable of managing competing priorities effectively and working across multiple teams and internal groups

· Quickly adopt new technologies and tools

· Detail-oriented and quality focused, while also able to understand the bigger picture and incorporate long-term group strategy

· Problem-solver comfortable with resolving complex challenges and getting to the root of the issue

· Up to date on modern test principals of automated testing

· Communicate clearly and succinctly across departments and to senior management on status, trade-offs, and key recommendations

· Consistently deliver on commitments, taking ownership and overcoming obstacles

· Experience in financial services and/or alternative markets a plus
