As a member of our Fund Administration Technology Team, the Technical Business Analyst will support a wide range of applications and tools that drive our fast-growing services to the Alternative Investment industry.  Your primary focus will be to lead the support for our capital administration waterfall tool.  The waterfall engine provides a customizable set of rules that calculates investor distributions and GP carried interest, and provides user friendly excel formulas for easy adoption in an excel-driven world.  While having strong programming skills in VBA for Excel is essential, you will have the opportunity to learn and apply other skills such as SQL, SSRS, PowerBI and Robotic Process Automation with UiPath.  You will support client reporting on our world-class client reporting platform and apply your analytical skills to support data management initiatives underpinning our data-intensive platforms.  The ideal candidate enjoys a challenge, can juggle multiple tasks and projects concurrently, is a self-starter, capable of grasping new concepts quickly and has ambitions to grow their career in technology.  Along the way you will have the opportunity to get deep exposure to Alternative Investments and be part of a fast-growing company that has a track record of enabling career progression.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:
•    Apply your exceptional problem-solving skills to create and optimize efficiencies for our client services team
•    Capture and analyze business requirements
•    Use advanced Excel capabilities including macros, pivot tables, lookups and formulas
•    Work closely with engineering and automation QA team to support ongoing development
•    Provide technical support and maintenance on in-house technology solutions
•    Manage special projects and work on client deliverables 
•    Investigate identified issues in solution or data quality and work with product manager to define priorities
•    Apply technology skills to analyze and troubleshoot system and software issues
•    Test new features and support our quality control team on documenting test plans
•    Write simple documentation and conduct basic training on our solutions
•    Strong communication and collaboration skills; commitment to a client-focused, solutions-oriented approach
•    Occasional domestic travel to our offices (2 to 3 times per year)

 

YOUR PROFILE:
•    Detail oriented individual with good written and verbal communication/interpersonal skills 
•    Highly capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a dynamic team of both technical and business professionals, building strong relationships along the way
•    Proactive learning style and ability to research problems for effective solutions
•    Highly inquisitive and tech curious attitude with a track-record of solving problems with focus and determination
•    Self-starter with a demonstrated focus on quality
•    Capable of managing competing priorities effectively
•    Experience as a technical business analyst and/or delivery of software platform implementation programs, preferably with exposure to financial services
•    Advanced Excel skills (i.e. complex formulas, VBA, macros, etc)
•    Programming experience (VBA, basic T-SQL a plus) 
•    Able to debug/code functions/macros using Excel and VBA
•    A desire to exceed expectations and passion to learn new skills
