THE ROLES:
Our Debt Capital Market (DCM) business unit works with our clients on syndicated and corporate loans. These positions are client facing and are a great introduction to finance, loan servicing, and alternative investing.
We have the following roles open for this summer
· Loan Agency (Carmel or Chicago): Works primarily with syndicated commercial loans. This team focuses on loan processing, reviewing loan documents, invoicing, facilitating lender trades, and client service and communication.
· Loan Trade Settlement (LTS) (Chicago): LTS focuses on the trading of loans. The team is very client service focused. In this role you would have the opportunity to work closely with attorneys on the logistics and compliance of trades.
· Asset Based Lending (ABL) & Successor Agency (SA) Shared internship (Chicago): ABL handles collateral and asset-based servicing and monitoring while SA works on distressed and high-risk loans. Both these teams do similar work as the rest of the Business Unit, but focus on different types of loan servicing
· Commercial Loan & Credit Services (CLCS) (Chicago): This team is also known as Real Estate Loan Servicing team. CLCS works with non-syndicated and smaller loans providing underwriting support and a variety of other services.
· DMC Operations (Carmel or Salt Lake City): DMC Ops supports a variety of teams. Main duties include data entry, document review, general support, and client service. Additional responsibilities will come up depending on the team being supported. Good role for non-business focused majors interested in learning more about the industry.
· Credit Structured Products (CSP) (Carmel or Chicago): CSP focused on CDOs and CLOs. They work with a portfolio of commercial loans and a variety of clients
· Non-DCM – Credit Portfolio (Carmel or Boston): Portfolio administration and fund accounting. Non-accounting background role.
· Non-DCM - Investor Services (Salt Lake City, Carmel): Client Service Team for Alter Domus. Managing communication between client and fund administration team as well as other duties as assigned. Good role for non-business focused majors interested in learning more about the industry.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITES:
· Manage middle-market and broadly-syndicated commercial bank loans where Alter Domus has been engaged as the administrative agent;
· Maintain the loan register, record, and execute all loan activities;
· Review and extract data from loan agreements, amendments, and other governing loan documents, ensuring accurate application on the loan agency system;
· Prepare and process invoices, disbursing all deal-related fees;
· Accurately prepare loan notices;
· Develop and maintain a solid working relationship with lenders and borrowers, providing exceptional customer service;
· Participate in Alter Domus Intern Programming around professional development, career progression, and presentation
· Attend in-person and virtual networking events
YOUR PROFILE:
- Pursing a Bachelor’s Degree in the following majors: Finance, Economics, Management, or other Business related majors
- Current Junior with an expected graduation date between December 2023-August 2024
- Minimum 3.0 GPA
- Available to work as an intern from June 5th – August 14th 2023
- Proficient with Excel
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated leadership, learning, and collaboration skills
- Customer centric mindset
- Detail oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work responsibly in a hybrid environment
- Authorized to work in the US with NO need for employment-based sponsorship now OR in the future
