We are looking to appoint a Senior Officer within our Debt Capital Markets business to be located in our Hong Kong office. The role will work with global debt/credit funds, insurance companies and sovereign wealth funds to facilitate the provision of finance to large infrastructure, real estate, oil and gas, mining and other investment projects.

Deals involve bilateral or syndicated loan arrangements and you will support the business operate in various capacities including: facility agent, security trustee and cash manager. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1 years loan agent and/or treasury experience including exposure to the major loan agent/treasury platforms such as WSO IHS Markit, Advent Geneva, , G-Treasury, SAP, Sentry and Solvas-Deloitte etc.

Key Competencies

A. Loan Administration

Transaction Data Management

  • Borrowings, repayments, loan restructurings, rollovers, LCs, commitment reductions and increases, rate reset, margin changes and PIK.
  • Interest and fee postings.
  • Amortization Schedule maintenance.
  • Reconciliation of interest and fee receivables, scheduled amortization payments, optional pre-payments and amendment fees.

Cash & Asset Reconciliations

  • Bank account and money movement monitoring & reconciliations.
  • Daily reconciliation of cash and holdings of each portfolio.
  • Administer and reconcile reserve accounts for revolver draws to Agent.
  • Cash account and asset balance reconciliations with trustee(s), agents, etc.

Deliverable Data Management

  • Daily and period specific portfolio reporting
  • Daily deliverable of accruals data into accounting systems
  • Trade notification via agreed upon Trade Ticket format to be sent automatically in required format (email, ftp, fax etc.) to necessary clients and administrators.
  • Real-time Notice tracking and archiving

Administrative Reports

  • Agreed upon customized reports

B. Compliance and Waterfall Model Management

Create integrated compliance and waterfall model for Borrowing Base support

  • Borrowings, repayments, loan restructurings, rollovers, LCs, commitment reductions and increases, rate reset, margin changes and PIK.
  • Incorporate notching language from rating agencies (if applicable).
  • Prepare summary reports of compliance and waterfall model outputs.

Model Tie-out

  • Reconcile model outputs with Lender(s).

C. Borrowing Base Reporting & Modeling

  • Review credit agreements, and manager-generated summaries.
  • Categorize assets in terms of subjective asset criteria as defined in the financing vehicle’s governing documents (e.g. Warehouse Agreement).
  • Prepare a summary of terms to compare with Lender’s summary.
  • Reconcile differences with Lender, determine final categorization of subjective attribute(s).

D. Teamwork

  • Interact with the internal and external clients as necessary in the day to day of deal management
  • Work as part of the wider global team to streamline production and enhance policies, procedures and workflows, suggesting new ideas and providing feedback from your day to day work;
  • Use effective listening skills and professional verbal and written communication to liaise with internal teams;
  • Have the mindset to become a subject matter expert on all aspects of the DCM process, especially DCM data processing tech systems to be able to help train new team members;

Your Profile

  • Fluent in written and spoken English and Cantonese;
  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Accounting or Finance;
  • Hong Kong CPA is preferred but all other international CPA certification is a plus as well
  • Minimum of five years of industry experience in finance areas such as private syndicated loans, securitization, secured transactions, collateral and loan administration, fund administration and agency/trustee transactions
  • Experience reviewing credit documentation and using transaction systems
  • Experience with one on more treasury, financial accounting, transaction systems or other data management systems such as Advent Geneva, WSO IHS Markit, G-Treasury, SAP, Sentry and Solvas-Deloitte is a must;
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills;
  • Experience with using bank platforms to perform the telegraphic transfers is a plus
  • High level of attention to detail at all times used to thoroughly review the work of DCM Officer
  • Good capacity to build relationships with clients, external stakeholders and colleagues;
  • Like challenges, have a natural leadership spirit and like to walk the extra mile.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and work under pressure to meet a range of deadlines;
  • Proactive, client service approach with strong verbal and written communication skills;
  • Possess team spirit with the ability to work independently using your own initiative when appropriate;
