Your role
As a Senior Accounting Manager, you will take a leadership role in the strategic oversight and delivery of accounting and financial reporting services across a portfolio of clients. You will be responsible for driving the overall performance of the Corporate Accounting function, leading and developing a team of Managers and accounting professionals, and serving as a senior escalation point for clients, internal stakeholders, and executive leadership. This role requires deep technical accounting expertise, a strategic mindset, and a proven ability to lead teams and drive operational excellence at scale.
Your responsibilities
- Provide strategic oversight and senior leadership of the full suite of U.S.-based Corporate Accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, vendor management, and expense processing, with expert-level U.S. GAAP knowledge
- Take ultimate accountability for the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of all deliverables across multiple client portfolios
- Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, financial statements, and supporting schedules, ensuring the highest standards of quality and compliance
- Lead, manage, and develop a team of Managers, Officers, and Senior Officers, setting clear expectations, providing regular feedback, and conducting performance reviews
- Define and drive team capacity planning, workload distribution, and resource allocation strategies to ensure consistent delivery targets are met across the function
- Champion a high-performance culture rooted in accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous development
- Drive the career growth of team members through coaching, mentoring, succession planning, and identifying development opportunities at all levels
- Serve as a senior point of contact and trusted advisor for internal and external stakeholders on all Corporate Accounting matters, including executive leadership
- Oversee NACHA file creation, submission, and electronic payment processing, ensuring full compliance with relevant standards and regulatory requirements
- Lead and own the continuous improvement agenda across processes, systems, and controls within the Corporate Accounting delivery function
- Take executive ownership of year-end reporting including audit preparation, footnotes, 1099 preparation, and regulatory documentation
- Manage and strengthen strategic vendor relationships and oversee the integrity of vendor approval matrices and payment processes
- Partner with and influence senior and executive leadership on strategic delivery initiatives, business transformation projects, and ad hoc priorities
Your profile
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent professional qualification preferred
- 10+ years of progressive experience in an accounting or finance role, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership capacity
- Expert-level technical knowledge of AP/AR, month-end/year-end close, financial reporting, and reconciliations
- Proven experience leading and developing teams of mangers and accounting professionals in high-volume fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated ability to drive process improvement and operational transformation at a function or organizational level
- Experience with NACHA files, electronic payment processing, and accounting systems
- Exceptional leadership and people management skills with a strong track record of developing talent and building high-performing teams
- Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Outstanding communication, influencing, and senior stakeholder management skills
- Advanced Excel skills; experience with accounting/ERP systems is essential
